From the README

Write local rules. Watch societies emerge.

Game of Society is a browser-based programmable cellular automaton. Give cells properties such as age, wealth or opinion, write JavaScript rules for how neighbours interact, and watch societies emerge.

▶ Play Game of Society

Conway-style cells also have an age, showing how one additional dimension changes a familiar cellular automaton. Play Aging Conway Society

Cells respond to the local distribution of neighbouring groups, producing larger-scale patterns from local imitation.
