We store your email address and a scrypt hash of your password, or, for a passkey account, the passkey's id and public key and an optional name. If you sign in with GitHub, your GitHub id and username. Then what you do with the account: saves, votes, the games you played, your daily streak, the projects you submit or claim, and a garage handle if you pick one. The sign-in cookie lasts 30 days. We don't send email.
Your saves, reactions, played list, streak and a few display settings stay in your browser's storage. Nothing we send carries an id for you: reactions and plays are counted with no name attached, and the next button sends the projects you have already seen so it doesn't repeat them.
The site counts things per day, like plays, saves and sign-ins, as plain numbers, never with an IP address or account. To count one person once, the server hashes your IP address with a secret salt: for reactions, This or That picks and skips that hash stays in memory for a day at most; for a share it is stored with the project and the day. Our web server logs each request (IP address, page, browser, referring page) and keeps those logs for 14 days, to count traffic and stop abuse.
If you turn them on, we store your browser's push address (and your account, if signed in). Turn them off from the pause menu (DAILY VIBE: ON · TURN OFF), which deletes it, or in your browser's site settings.
Every project is someone else's page, loaded in a frame from their own site without telling it which page you came from. What happens inside the frame is up to that site and its own privacy policy.
On Your Projects, press DELETE ACCOUNT and type “delete”. The account goes, with its passkeys, garage page, played list, streak, saves, votes and notification address. Projects you submitted or claimed stay listed, unowned. Nightly backups drop it within a week. Locked out? Open an issue on the picks repo, without your email.
