Open the live demo Source on GitHubAn ultra-optimized, classic text-mode Snake game written in x86 16-bit Assembly for MS-DOS. Designed to be lightweight, incredibly fast, and run with constant frame times even on original Intel 8086 hardware.
$O(1)$ Circular Queue (No Array Shifting). Naive approach: Shifting the entire coordinate array of size $N$ every frame ($O(N)$ operations). This project: Uses a power-of-two circular buffer. Moving only updates head and tail pointers via fast masking (and index, 1023), making execution time completely independent of snake length. Packed X/Y Coordinates & Fast Boundary Check (No DIV).
