From the README

Orbital Vitorc is a browser-based sci-fi flip-screen action platformer built on a single Canvas runtime. It is inspired by the tight room-by-room pressure of classic 8-bit and 16-bit arcade platform shooters, with an original campaign, original code, and a generated pixel-art asset pipeline.

Play the current build on Vercel

That means the GitHub v1.0 tag marks the first public repository release, while the in-game version keeps the latest verified browser build metadata.

You play as Vitorc, a yellow-suited orbital assault specialist pushing through a 24-room research station.
